This book will guide you step by step to reach your fundraising goal through an online auction of donated items. Along with this book, you will need a group of dedicated volunteers. Since you will be selling quality, FREE, donated items, your organization will receive ALL monies raised from the auction. There is no pizza, cookie dough, candle vendor waiting to receive most of the money collected from your efforts. Also, you are in total control of the process as well as the financial success of your fundraiser. Since this is an all volunteer event, the paid staff members of the nonprofit are free to focus on the jobs they were hired to do.
The structure of this fundraiser allows everyone in your organization to participate by donating an item to be sold through the online auction. It is one fundraiser that does not require a financial commitment from any of your members and very little from the organization, (coffee and donuts consumed during meetings do cost money).
Here is how it works: Every member of your organization, congregation or school has new or nearly new items in their home or business which they are not using and would be happy to donate for the benefit of your worthy cause. This book will guide you through all you need to know and do to produce a successful fundraiser anytime of the year, rain, sleet or shine. From selecting committee leaders to training volunteers and receiving quality donations to be auctioned, all is explained in detail.
In chapter four I have created a Master Checklist with over three hundred tasks for you and your volunteers to complete. This includes volunteer selection and training, how to load items onto an auction site, acquiring goods, marketing the auction, and even what to do with items that may not sell. The entire book is filled with clearly understood steps for each volunteer to follow.
Here is what I expect you to provide in order to make your auction a success:
1.) Enthusiastic support of your board members.
2.) A volunteer to act as executive chairperson (EC).
3.) People in your organization willing to direct committees and receive direction from the EC.
4.) An administrative coordinator to assist the EC in coordinating the event.
5.) Donated items (I will show you how to get them) to be brought to a secure but easily accessible work area to be stored and then shipped in a timely manner.
6.) Quality, teachable, committed volunteers with various abilities able to carry out the instructions given by the fundraising leadership.
What do you say, are you ready to buy my book and get started?
